We stopped to pick up Chipotle to bring home last night for supper. Nolan fell asleep on the way home and had an accident. So Evan took him into the bathroom and cleaned off his legs with a warm washcloth. Nolan wanted it HOT and proceeded to throw a temper tantrum that lasted at least 45 minutes. He was throwing himself all over his room with such force I was afraid he'd hurt himself. He kept screaming that he wanted it HOT. I finally went in and rocked him and he sobs "but I want to go to school by myself". He was heartbroken that he wouldn't get to go to school because he'd had an accident. Poor guy. So, we felt bad after that tantrum.
I had a wonderful morning. Got the entire house vacuumed and worked out for 45 minutes while Avrie napped and Nolan played. We went upstairs for lunch and Nolan said he wanted macaroni and cheese and went to the pasta drawer to get it. I had some leftover macaroni and cheese in the fridge from a few days ago though so I pulled them out. Nolan thought it wasn't the right stuff and started screaming that he didn't want it. I sent him to his room where he started in on the tantrum of all time. Screaming bloody murder and thrashing on the floor. He started slamming his door against the wall. So, at this point I tell him it's not acceptable and spank him, which made him mad and me sad and hurt my hand. I locked his door but he got it open and slammed it so hard that he knocked a picture off and broke it and cut his cheek on the glass. I took him downstairs so I could clean up the broken glass and he had cooled down by the time I was done.
I had/have no idea what to do when he's like this. I don't have any place to contain him. I'm hoping that this doesn't become a regular thing obviously, but I want to know what to do in the future. Help!
Just as I'm typing this he takes a bag full of Avrie's birthday clothes and cards and dumps it all over the floor. I told him to pick them up and he yells at me "you clean it up". AAAAAAAAAAAARGGGGGGGGghhhhhhhh. I cannot live with him like this. It's like when he's on sugar but 300 times worse. But then again, no one believes me about how he gets on sugar. Tell them Amy!!
