amber--i'm the mom that doesn't let my kids play with playdough or modeling clay because it's too messy. this stuff is awesome because it doesn't stain, stick in the carpet or hair, or dry up. i also don't let my kids color with markers because more ends up on them than on the paper. but i did cave and gave them markers to color on the glurtch...i just stripped avrie.
google "glurch recipe" and i used the very first link...'kinderart'.
Annika would love this. I'll have to get some glue and try it. Is the borax safe for the kids? What if they eat it? She's on a playdough kick and we "make cookies" almost every day. I make her sit in the high chair and cleanup isn't usually too bad. Worth the peace I get while she's busy. Homemade playdough is much better than the "real" thing. Way less crumbly. We have a great recipe from the preschool.
You can hide treasure in it.
Color it.
Even bury alligators in it.
Glurch is amazing stuff.

i guess i've made that before. just didn't know you could color it with markers.
