Farewell to Baby Cole

Our darling Cole has jumped headfirst into the Terrible Two's. He's just a bit early. Cole has definitely stayed a "baby" much, much longer than Nolan or Avrie. He has changed almost overnight. Yesterday was the very first day that he's shown flat-out defiance and meant it. His cute little tantrums have turned into the embarrassing kind. His sweet, easy going demeanor has been replaced by a very determined and strong-willed little bugger. He refuses to eat anything unless he's the one holding the utensil. Last night at the Y Easter Party he threw himself on the floor in a rage because Evan was trying to open a piece of candy for him. He grabbed it furiously and shoved the whole thing in his mouth wrapper and all. Which resulted in a larger tantrum because it didn't taste good. Imagine that. He refuses to be rocked, doesn't like to be carried and pouts if he even hears you thinking the word "no." Oh, where did my baby go? Despite the challenges, I love this stage. And my darling non-baby.

awwww, sweet little cole! we're staring to get that too. kaia had 2 fits today. one because i dared to put her coat on her before letting her outside. and the other because her lunch wasn't ready the minute she wanted it. my problem is that i laugh all the time - even when she's naughty. no wonder the babies of the family become the comedians.

Yup, I know what you mean from watching my sister's kids go through it. Will eventually be the parent experiencing it first hand! You miss your babies when they grow up.

I can't believe he is becoming a "big boy" already. He is still a sweet, cuddly baby in my mind! I am sure we will surprised when we bring the kids back for day care.

Awww. So hard to let the baby go, but think of all the fun ahead! Every stage has its bittersweet moments, doesn't it? Just think how someday you'll hardly remember these 2 year old moments! So hard to believe he's already that big! Good luck!

Oh, my goodness! it seems we really can tell that our children are only one day apart. This weekend Emerson refused, and I MEAN REFUSED to sleep in her crib for a nap, she dragged her blanket over to her high chair and stomped and said, chair momma, I ploped her into her chair and she fell asleep. She also refused to say please this morning, but they came a remorseful thank you, later on. Jeeez! I've not experience the terrible two's, but I guess it's on!

We are feeling the same way about Levi. Yesterday we were calling him the Easter ham. He is loud, obnoxious and always trying to be funny. He only looks like a baby anymore when he is sleeping.
