Oodles of Observations and Happenings (*edits in red)
- I have a new favorite book to read to the kids: How I Became a Pirate by Melinda Long. It's great practice for my pirate voice! She has another one Pirates Don't Change Diapers that we're anxious to check out. I've decided this warrants a watching of Johnny Depp. Right? For me of course. To perfect my pirate voice. Yup, that's it.
- An alternative use for disposable breast pads: coasters. They're awesome. I'm going to go broke changing them as often as I do. I may have to revert to pioneer days and use washable ones when I'm at home.
- Yipeee...the last 6 nursing sessions have been PAIN FREE. Now I can enjoy nursing and reading oodles of books. Morning nursing is story time for the kids. Afternoons are all mine. I'm currently reading Heat. Pain free no more. ARGGGHHHH.
- I used to get "oh, look how cute" looks when I was out with two kids. Now that I have three I'm getting the "doesn't she know how to stop" looks. Interesting how our society has changed from having 10+ kids being the norm to having 3 be too many.
- Long-ish story short, Cole didn't get circumcised at the hospital and just had it done yesterday. Poor kid. He was up for 3 hours in the night...I think the anesthetic had finally worn off. While I'm all for circumcisions, I challenge someone to find a way to explain it to a 4-year-old. Good luck.
- Avrie has a new trick. She can climb out of her crib. She's getting her big girl bed set up today whether she wants it or not. I don't want broken limbs.
- Our laptop is on its last leg. The screen lost the ability to remain upright unless it's straight up and down. Makes things interesting.
- I started drinking coffee again this morning. It's so lovely to have energy. The whole upper floor is vacuumed and the kitchen floor mopped. Wahooo.
- Nolan's teacher came to meet him on Thursday. She's very sweet and I think he'll love her. We went to the school's open house last night and saw his classroom and met some of his classmates. His class is very diverse again. He is definitely the minority. He is one of 18 students. We also got to see Avrie's room and meet her teacher. Her class is much smaller...10. Nolan will be going M-Th 9-11 and Avrie will go just Thursdays at the same time.
- My "just-had-a-baby-amazing-weight-loss" is coming to a screeching halt. I guess it's time to start exercising regularly. I'm actually really looking forward to it and can't wait to join the Y again and start BodyPump. I'm oddly at peace with my body right now, which is not normal for me. I'm only 10 pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight. Unfortunately, my shape needs some sculpting! 10 pounds away from my pre-pregnancy with #3 weight. Much different from my pre-pregnancy with #1 weight. That'd be 25-ish pounds away. But I had to work out 3x/day to stay at that weight...so not looking to go there again.

every time i went anywhere with my kids, my daycare baby & my pregnant belly this summer i got comments. ppl always asked if all the kids were mine - kinda annoying isn't it?! i'm reading a book you might like it's called, A Wolf At The Table: A Memoir Of My Father. Glad nursing is finally enjoyable!
lots of comments to add to everything you said..but mostly...you're 10# away? allready? don't hurt yourself! and coffee? i couldn't even eat chocolate cake without the caffeein in it keeping my baby up ALL NIGHT! glad you're feeling energy though!
i changed my background btw.thx!
that's funny that you mentioned the circumcision because I was all content to not explain it to the kids and my mom went into an explanation about the skin and itbeing cut off, and some people do and some don't....poor little Cole, good thing he didn't know what was coming.
i would have been happy to not explain it as well but nolan is RIGHT THERE every single time i change his diaper...and it's quite obvious something happened!!!
lol on the circumcision story! micah asked me the other night how the baby was going to come out. i made sure he really wanted to know & then told him. his response, "i don't remember that, i think you're kidding"
totally unrelated, shannon, ...regarding the Weiner book..what do you think happened? who did she choose ? Who cares who did the bad stuff/ mystery stuff..i want to know about her relationship. I'll take your comments off the air! ha!
i think you looked fine before you got pregnant. no need to lose 25 pounds, beautiful!
awe, thanks. why are you still at home!?!?? i thought for sure that your night alone would make things happen!
So thumbs up on the pirate books, huh? I was eyeballing them the other day.
