A Random Dose of....

  • Avrie is losing her babytalk and turning into a big girl. "Be-be" has turned into just "blanket". Her favorite thing to say this morning has been "I don't want it". And then proceeded to eat it anyway...
  • Poop progress report: Excellent! Nolan has been doing wonderful. The first place he goes now is the toilet. If he has trouble he'll ask for a pullup but it's been over a week since the last one!
  • I think this will be my last pregnancy. I am in severe pain already and I have a long, long way to go. I practically cried myself to sleep last night and was numb and tingly from the waist down when I woke up this morning. I wish I could afford the chiro. Or acupuncture. I wish my bathtub had jets. I wish I had the guts to sit in the Y hot tub without getting dirty looks from other patrons. Although I think I could just pass for plump and not pregnant.
  • I've been having horrible dreams lately about losing my kids. They are so real. One night this week I was battling sharks to save Avrie and lost her amongst the waves. I woke up sweating and tried to get out of the dream but as soon as I fell asleep I was back in the ocean of despair.
  • I think I will go crazy if it snows again this season. We were having so much fun outside and now it's all wet and slushy. Blahggh.
  • Oh! I hate, hate Peeps. Actually, marshmallows in general. Unless they are in s'mores. And I heard this fabulous idea on the radio...buy some Peeps on clearance and toss them in the freezer for the summer. You roast them and they taste just like creme brulee. Now I think I could handle that. So every time we open the freezer we see two boxes of Peeps.
  • I want these. So badly.
  • My kids are extra whineeeeey and needy today. So am I. And I have nobody to take care of me. *Sniffle*

I have been numb lately from the waist down also, have you tried Biofreeze? I bet we won't be that lucky during labor! I hate marshmallows unless they are in rice krispies, Peeps give me the willies just looking at them. Oh, by the way, I tried the mango recipe with the lemon juice and chili powder recently, and it was awesome. Hope you feel better soon.

is it sciatic pain you have? i used to have that too, but the orthopedic inserts i got from dr. irestone have helped so much. i don't have low back pain any more - if i go to the chiro now it's for my neck. could you save some babysitting money and go to him? also do you have the oil panaway? there is also a new oil that is supposed to help with back pain. maybe you could ask jenny about that. hope you feel better!

amber--my chiro gave me a lifetime supply of sample packs of biofreeze....i like it but it really doesn't cut it. rice crispy bars. yum.

mindy--yes. well i only make $60 a week and that goes for food. does he advise against going barefoot?

oh yeah, don't go barefoot. i never do anymore and i have to wear totally flat shoes - no flip-flops either. another thing he says to do if you can swing it is buy some birkenstocks. don't you have any rich relatives that can help you out?!

we already owe both our parents way too much money for business loans. we did just get a sizable inheritance check from my grandma but we used 1/2 of it to pay off avrie's birth bills, a little bit to pay off overdue misc bills and the rest we put into savings for the cruise this winter. i did dig through my shoe closet though and found a pair of clarks that i haven't worn in ages...i just deemed them my new house shoes.

prenatal yoga??? I had plantar fascitis SOOO bad...Irestone is great or...long story..when Rox and I flipped the van he was booked up so he sent me to HIS chiro..Dr. Stockton who has helped me with a multitude of issues..multitude...He might do a payment plan...tell him your plight..tellhim you know me...tell him to fix you. AS for shoes..I wear NAOTs constantly..the best arch support this side of Texas! They last forever so the upfront rather icky price tag is so worthit..worth another loan in fact. Best wishes.

Oh no, that's horrible...I'm so sorry. Maybe the rest of your pregnancy will get better (yeah, I can hear you laughing at me!) I don't have any suggestions for you, but I do sympathize for you. Sounds like you and I are both looking for the same money tree though!!

Shannon- if you find out the oil that can help, please let me know, i'd love to try it:0) Thanks in advance.

amber -- do you have any experience with Young Living Oils? i'm a beginner who hasn't been converted to strictly YL. I have a cheaper brand that has a few of the same oils as PANAWAY as well as a few others. i added a bunch to a hot bath last night and rubbed myself down with it (mixed with lotion) before bed. it feels good...has some cinnamon or cloves in it for heat. and smells good. dunno if it really helped my pain or not since i went to bed shortly thereafter. i'll coat myself good again this morning.

We have a store in town that sells oils and i've tried some for headaches and sore muscles, but i'm not sure of the specific brand. Maybe i'll go in there, they ask you what your symptoms are and mix a custom oil based on that. If you ever get the money saved up, acupuncture is a great way to heal your body. I went for fertility issues and endometriosis, but i've heard success stories from people for many different things. My mom went for migraines and they stopped when she had a treatment every week, but you have to have consistent treatment because otherwise the problem returns. Alot of maintenance with it. Thanks for the info.

that's awesome that they custom blend! yes, i am a true believe in acupuncture. i used to work for a union healthcare company and they had amazing benefits...all alternative medicine was covered 100%. acupuncture was the only thing that helped me get over a muscle spasm in my neck. i was getting treatments when i was first pregnant with nolan and i hadn't told anyone yet...i was only 4 weeks along...and i went in for a treatment and just mentioned it as he was putting in the needles, not thinking that it was a big deal. he totally flipped out and yanked out a few needles that were in places that apparently can trigger abortion. yikes! but now we have horridly sucky insurance and nothing is covered. blah.

you know that 3 martini playdate? i tried at the library..i guess it's new and i'll wait...

Shannon said...

it's actually not that new....did they have it in the system and it was just checked out? it's a little off the beaten path so they might have to order it for you.

irestone recommended chaco's for me. they're less expensive than birks...and i live in them all summer long. i love them so much. if you go on zappos.com, i've found them the cheapest there, and there is free shipping both ways. (if you end up returning them)

Shannon said...

thanks shannon! i'll check them out for sure.

Sorry about the back pain, Shannon, but how cool is that that Nolan is getting the potty training thing figured out. I'm so jealous. We're making some progress here, too, but not to the extent it sounds like you are. Wish I lived closer so I could try to come take care of you. ;)
