Spanking

I absolutely do not believe anyone who says they've never spanked their children. Maybe I have anger management issues or something*, but what about a screaming toddler** who won't sit in a grocery cart two minutes after you've entered the store doesn't make you want to slap them upside the head? If you have a child too small to spank and you say you'll never do it, come back and tell me what you think in a year or two. That being said, I didn't slap her upside the head and I can't remember the last time I spanked Nolan. But, I seriously don't believe the parents who claim they don't ever need to spank. There. Now I'll go hide from CPS.

*Burned out Mommy Syndrome (maybe my husband will read this and take a subtle hint)
**Happy as a clam when she gets put on the floor and left behind. This did not go over well with the other patrons of Target. They were less than thrilled with my parenting I'm sure.

It's after 5pm and I have a house to clean for Union Meeting and a meal to make for lunch company. I haven't even started. And I'm home alone with two kids. Someone send the Prozac.

Hang in there! Do you have locks on your bedroom doors? Throw your stuff in there and lock it. Make chili for lunch tomorrow. No prep involved. Or there is always the option of calling in sick! It'll all work out.

I hadn't thought of chili...I'm doing a stroganoff in the crockpot. Our bedroom is definitely going to be off-limits. I wonder if we'll have room to sleep =)

How did it go? Did everyone fit? Did you move some furniture out of the front room?

Oh, about the spanking thing. We tried everything to get Ayla to stay in her bed recently. Finally I snapped & told Craig I could not deal with it. One spanking, a terrible Daddy voice & some gentle comforting by him seems to have solved the problem.

it went well and everything worked out, of course. we have to move our two big purple chairs and one end table out and we can fit everyone. we brought up our big dining room table for lunch and ate in the living room...in that end nook area. we really liked the table there so i did some rearranging this morning to make it fit better and i really like it. our tiny table in the kitchen is too small to hold 4 of us comfortably now. we ate breakfast in the new spot this morning and the kids liked it...even ate more than usual =)

I know how you felt. I have the burned out Mommy syndrome right now. Watch out...stay out of my way.

i'm going to convince my husband tonight that a Y membership is cheaper than mental health drugs and therapy bills =)
